Are you looking for a fun date night idea in Edmonton? Something other than your typical dinner and a movie? Well – I have the solution for you!!
The Blue Chair Cafe is this little spot in Edmonton that people flock to. They host artists in this cozy corner of the restaurant and while they’re on stage, you get to enjoy incredible cocktails and delicious food from their scratch kitchen. They feature different entree, drink and dessert options that you can’t find on their regular menu, but because everything is so tasty it’s hard to decide what to choose.
On the particular night that I’m writing about, we saw Chloe Albert perform. We’ve seen her quite a few times already at other venues and she did not disappoint! Chloe is local to Edmonton and I am sure she would fit into the Folk music category. If you haven’t already seen her, check her out!
I would recommend making reservations at The Blue Chair, otherwise I think it’s unlikely that you would get in. As you can see, the place isn’t huge.
Next recommendation that I have is to try their cocktails! We tried a few (you know, to make sure they know what they’re doing – and they do! 😉) and let me tell you I wanted to try every other drink on their menu! If you don’t find what you’re looking for on the drink menu they will even offer to make what you want, but I think you should try what they have to offer first.
For our starter, we shared the spinach and artichoke flatbread and it was super tasty. I see a popular choice at a lot of other tables was nachos, which also looked delicious.
For our entrees, I was torn between the Bison burger and the pork tenderloin medallions. I finally landed on the pork and ordered the risotto as my side, and my husband Nico got the special which was also pork. We loved it!! Although next time I go, I’m going to have to try the burger.
And no meal would be complete without dessert! Actually, for me that’s not true ~ I don’t normally order dessert BUT I am a sucker for crème brûlée! Nico and I shared one because we were pretty stuffed already and of course this was amazing as well!
‘Til next time… Cheers!
